Who We are

ABOUT

Welcome to
Black Eve Foundation

Black Eve Foundation is a UK-based registered charity (No. 1215159).

Our mission is to equip girls and young women of African heritage (aged 7–22) with the life skills, mindset, and values to thrive — enabling them to advance in life, support their education, and participate responsibly in society through leadership and service.

CULTIVATING CHANGE-MAKERS

Life Skills: Formation for Life

We believe that education should include formation for life and for the world of work. Academic knowledge matters, but without the skills to manage emotions, make good decisions, communicate well, and build healthy relationships, many young people struggle to reach their potential. Life-skills education gives them the tools to face real-life challenges with resilience and purpose.

Our goal is simple: to help every girl see her worth, nurture her potential to lead positive change, and grow into a capable, confident woman ready to contribute to society as she was meant to be.

OUR WAY OF TEACHING LIFE SKILLS

How We Deliver Life Skills Education

We deliver life-skills education through flexible methods — from interactive online courses to in-person sessions in schools and community settings — making it practical, engaging, and accessible wherever girls are. Each experience encourages reflection, teamwork, and action, helping them apply what they learn in everyday life and be prepared for adulthood and the responsibilities that come with it.

WHERE OUR CHARITY FOUNDATION WORKS

Nearly 3 in 4 young people globally lack essential life skills for work.

Globally, 129 million girls are out of school—32 million of primary age and 97 million of secondary age. In 2021, UNICEF supported life skills and skills development programmes for 33 million children, 51% of whom were girls. By delivering life skills education to girls of African heritage, Black Eve contributes to this global effort.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER

MISSION OF FORMATION

As the Founder of Black Eve Foundation, I am deeply committed to helping girls and young women of African heritage grow into the confident, capable, and responsible women our societies need. What began as a conviction about the dignity of the Black woman has become a mission of formation.

At Black Eve, we believe that real change begins when a girl discovers her worth and learns to nurture her natural abilities. That is what life skills are — abilities waiting to be developed intentionally to turn us into positive change-makers.

MORE ABOUT US

Our Name and Vision

Our name Black Eve carries deep meaning. Black honours our ethnic heritage and Eve, the name of the first woman and “mother of all the living” honours our gender, and means ‘source of life’ or ‘living one.’ It is a reminder that in every girl, there is life-giving capacity and innate human dignity.

Our Vision: A world where every girl and young woman of African heritage knows her worth, lives with purpose, and leads with confidence — equipped with life skills to improve the quality of her life and that of society.
