The Black Eve Model African Union — BE-MAU
Take Your Seat at Africa's Table
Imagine the leaders of African countries gathered in one room to discuss a major issue affecting the continent. Each country has a voice. Each country has interests. What is BE‑MAU?
BE‑MAU stands for Black Eve Model African Union.
It is a formation programme where young women of African heritage aged 18-22 step into the role of African countries and take part in a simulated African Union Summit.
Each participant represents one African country.
You learn about the country you are assigned, understand its position on a real issue affecting Africa, and then take part in a formal summit with other delegates.
You will speak, listen, respond, negotiate, work with others, and help shape a final decision.
The aim is not to pretend to be a politician.
The aim is to learn how to think clearly, speak with confidence, understand different perspectives, and take your place in serious conversations about Africa and the world.
What will it feel like?
You will be part of a serious, structured experience — but not a classroom.
First, you’ll receive online formation in clear thinking, confident communication and working well with others.
Then, during the Summit, you will have the chance to put these skills into action.
You will deliver a formal speech, take part in discussion, disagree respectfully, collaborate with other delegates, and contribute to a shared decision.
The final Summit is where every participant represents her country and takes her place in the room.
It will feel purposeful, challenging, and unlike anything you’ve done before — a space where your voice matters and you learn how to use it well.

What BE-MAU helps you develop
What You Will Build
A Clear Mind
Learn how to understand real issues, ask sharper questions, and organise your thoughts with confidence.
You will move from reacting to everything online to thinking with depth, structure and purpose.
A Strong Voice
Learn how to speak with presence, express your position clearly, and respond with confidence in formal settings.
You will practise presenting your ideas, speaking under pressure, and responding with clarity — the kind of communication that makes people listen.
Leadership That Works
Learn how to work with people who think differently, handle disagreement, and contribute to decisions that matter.
You will build the kind of leadership that does not perform — it represents.
