Black Eve Foundation takes its name from two words: Black and Eve. The name Black Eve speaks to who we serve and what we believe about them.
Black honours the African heritage of the girls and young women at the heart of our work. Eve, the name of the first woman and “mother of all the living”, honours our womanhood. Together, the words remind us that every girl has innate human dignity and the capacity to contribute to the lives of others.

A world where every girl and young woman of African heritage knows her worth, lives with purpose, and leads with confidence — equipped with life skills to improve the quality of her life and that of society.
Our Mission
Black Eve Foundation provides life skills education for girls and young women of African heritage. We teach the everyday abilities they need to understand themselves, relate to others, manage pressure, think clearly, make decisions and solve problems.
These abilities do not develop simply because someone grows older. They must be taught, learned and put into practice. By making that learning intentional, we want girls and young women to be better prepared to advance in life, support their education, and participate responsibly in society through leadership and service.
That is the work behind our name: recognising the dignity and potential already present in each girl, and helping her develop the skills to use them well.
